Paleochora is windy? Check out this simple tip

Paleochora is built on a small peninsula and so it faces both the east and west with numerous beaches and small coves extending on both sides.

It is also a rather windy place, but very peculiar as when it is windy from one side, we go swimming on the other.

Therefore, if you see that the west central beach of Pachia Ammos is windy, go swimming in the east and vice versa!

There is the east side of Paleochora.
This side features a jetty where the ferries anchor. It is very nice in the afternoon and evenings. The ferries depart every day towards the east, making multiple stops to the eastern places you like Sougia, and the eastern area of Sfakia where the exit of the famous Samaria gorge is also situated, Agia Roumeli that is.

The west side of Paleochora features the long sandy beach of Pachia Ammos
