You could also choose the more mountainous drive which starts from Pachia Ammos beach, the central west beach of Paleochora. Drive towards the west part of the beach and little before leaving Pachia Ammos, turn right and drive uphill towards the villages of Kontikinigi and Sarakina. This drive is more winding and takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes,
The aforementioned routes are joined little before the village of Strovles in Kissamos.2. **By Bus**: From June onwards, there are direct buses operated by KTEL connecting Paleochora and Elafonissi.

3.  By Taxi**: You can also take a taxi, which is private but more expensive than the other options.

4. **By Boat**: During the tourist season, aka from June to October, there are boat trips running from Paleochora to Elafonissi.
These trips usually offer a leisurely cruise along the coast and leave you to Elafonissi to enjoy it for a few hours. More private and tailored boat tours are also available throughout the year, weather permitting.
